Beschreibung

Who is this for? Teaching in English can prepare our students to work in international environments, in international teams or on international topics. It can also help international students to understand the content of our courses.
If you have already taught in English or are thinking about teaching in English, join us for an exploration of skills and techniques, which will support you and your students in the EME classroom (English as a Medium of Education).

Topics:

  • How good should my language skills be to teach in English?
  • Starting your first EME lesson.
  • Dealing with the challenges of EME.
  • Language tools to help students to understand and remember the lecture content.
  • Helping students to understand key terms in English.
  • Interaction strategies.
  • What to do when the words are missing.

This two-day workshop will explore best practices for teaching in EME environments. Through practical activities, discussion and reflection, we will investigate alternative tools and strategies to make English-language courses successful for the teacher and students.

You will take part in interactive activities aimed at building confidence and effectiveness in EME classrooms, including group discussions, practical language exercises, and case studies. The sessions focus on classroom language, lesson structure, scaffolding strategies, and fostering student interaction. Opportunities for peer exchange and real-world application will be built throughout.
